Innovations in Materials Processing and Technologies
Department of Mechanical Engineering Technologies and Materials (KSTM)
The department specializes in the optimization of manufacturing processes, heat treatment of materials, and comprehensive metallographic evaluation. It is a strategic partner for tackling technically challenging tasks for which companies lack the necessary in-house personnel. This collaboration enables companies to reduce development costs and accelerate the innovation cycle by applying scientific knowledge directly to production.
Research on Polymers and Industrial Technologies
Department of Materials, Technologies, and Environmental Engineering
Center for Know-How Transfer in the Fields of Polymer Materials, Rubber, and Environmental Engineering. It provides optimization of industrial technologies, solutions for making production more environmentally friendly, and specialized training focused on working with advanced laboratory equipment. These services are designed for companies that need to improve their technological capabilities in plastics and rubber processing.
Drive Diagnostics and Modern Machining Technologies
Department of Mechanical Engineering
A research facility focused on the simulation and diagnostics of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. It provides advanced analyses of continuum mechanics and fracture mechanics, as well as the effective implementation of high-tech solutions in the machining of curved surfaces. It offers its industrial partners technical and economic assessments of production options and ways to improve the reliability of technical systems.
Artificial Intelligence-Assisted Materials Diagnostics
Department of Materials Engineering
Expertise in the analysis and development of metallic, polymer, and textile materials, incorporating artificial intelligence and neural networks. Services include destructive testing of mechanical properties, plasma surface treatment, and numerical simulations of stress-strain states (FEM). The research group focuses on predicting the service life of components and developing alternative fillers and biopolymers for industrial applications.
Advanced Design and Intelligent Systems
Department of Design and Special Technology
A research facility focused on innovation in automotive and specialized (military) technology. It offers services in the field of generative design for maximum material optimization, the development of mechatronic and electronic systems (sensors, robotics), and the application of additive technologies. Another area of the department’s specialized expertise is the expert assessment of the technical condition of road vehicles and the investigation of the causes of malfunctions or damage.
Innovative Solutions for Functional Glass and Ceramics
Center for Functional and Surface-Functionalized Glasses
The internationally recognized center of excellence (FunGlass) conducts cutting-edge research and development on new types of glass and ceramics. It offers industrial partners in the glass, pharmaceutical, and energy industries chemical analysis of materials (ICP/OES, SEM/EDS), surface functionalization, and studies of thermal stability up to 1500 °C. The center has a unique infrastructure for melting experiments and the development of special glass microspheres.
