Do you know what can and cannot be patented?

Many entrepreneurs and innovators have great ideas, but not every idea can be patented. A patent protects a technical solution that is new, inventive, and industrially applicable. This could be, for example, a new product, device, technological process, or chemical composition.

Conversely, ideas themselves, works of art, scientific theories, mathematical methods, or natural discoveries are not subject to patent protection. Similarly, it is not possible to patent methods of treatment or diagnosis performed on the human or animal body.

If you are unsure whether your idea meets the conditions for patentability, it is worth verifying its nature before disclosure. Properly established intellectual property protection can be a significant competitive advantage and help turn innovation into valuable commercial success.
